CarePlus Health Plan Employees Serve as Community Activists, Volunteering to Beautify PS 112 in Queens.
New York, NY May 2, 2004โ”-On Saturday, May 8th approximately 50 CarePlus Health Plan employees will volunteer their time to help the students and staff of PS 112, The Dutch Kills School of Queens, beautify school grounds by painting, cleaning and gardening. PS 112 is located at 25-05 37th Avenue in Long Island City New York. This community project will begin at 9am.
A few weeks ago, The President of CarePlus Health Plan, Karin Ajmani challenged all employees to get more involved in their communities by going above and beyond what is expected of an average health plan. โWe’re not the average health plan. CarePlus is much more and we need to show how much we value the communities we serve by giving back to themโ. Robert Anderson, a Senior Retention Representative at CarePlus Health Plan stated, โIt was easy organizing our whole department’s involvement. We all want to help our community and we want to do it together as a team and what better way than to surprise all the students with a beautiful school upon their return on Monday morning.โ The Principal of PS 112, Gloria Stradford and Parent Coordinator, Thea Romano organized this event at their school and have been encouraging students along with school staff to participate. All CarePlus employees as well as CarePlus board member John Moore are supportive of this event.
